How It Works

1. Engineer Completes Certificate

Your engineer completes an electrical certificate on their iPhone or iPad. All test results, observations, and details are captured in the app as normal.

2. Submit for QS Review

When ready, the engineer submits the certificate for QS review. The certificate syncs securely via iCloud and appears in the QS Dashboard on the registered QS device.

3. QS Reviews Remotely

The Qualifying Supervisor opens the QS Dashboard, reviews the certificate details, test results, and observations. They can approve, reject (with notes), or request changes.

4. Signature Applied Automatically

Upon approval, the QS signs directly on their device. The signature is automatically applied to the correct supervisor fields on the certificate and synced back to the engineer.

How To Use The QS Dashboard

Initial Setup (One Time)

  1. Ensure Enterprise Subscription — QS Dashboard requires an active Enterprise subscription.
  2. Register QS Device — On the device your Qualifying Supervisor will use, go to Settings > QS Dashboard and enable “Register as QS Device”.
  3. Create PIN — Set a secure 4-digit PIN to protect access to the QS Dashboard.
  4. Enter QS Name — Enter the Qualifying Supervisor’s full name as it should appear on certificates.

For Engineers (Submitting Certificates)

  1. Complete your certificate as normal with all required test results and observations.
  2. From the certificate menu, select “Submit for QS Review”.
  3. The certificate status will change to “Pending QS Review” (shown in orange).
  4. Wait for approval — you’ll see the status change to “QS Approved” (green) or “QS Rejected” (red).
  5. Once approved, the certificate is ready to generate as PDF with all signatures.

For Qualifying Supervisors (Reviewing Certificates)

  1. Tap the purple “QS Review” button on the home screen.
  2. Enter your PIN or use Face ID/Touch ID.
  3. Review pending certificates — oldest first for urgency.
  4. Tap a certificate to see full details, test results, and observations.
  5. Tap “Approve” and sign, or “Reject” with notes explaining what needs correction.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I have multiple QS devices?

Currently, only one device can be registered as the QS device per Enterprise account. This ensures clear accountability for certificate approvals.

What happens if I change my QS device?

Go to QS Settings on the current QS device, verify with your PIN, and disable “Register as QS Device”. Then register the new device. The change syncs via iCloud to all devices in your organisation.

Can the QS see certificate details before approving?

Yes. The QS Dashboard shows full certificate details including all test results, observations, and engineer notes. The QS can make an informed decision before approving.

What certificate types support QS approval?

All certificate types that require a Qualifying Supervisor signature: EIC, Domestic EIC, Minor Works, 3 Circuit Minor Works, EICR, EV Charger Certificate, and more.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Apple’s iCloud infrastructure. PIN authentication adds an extra layer of protection, and biometric authentication (Face ID/Touch ID) is available.
