iCertifi has now introduced a game changing new speech-to-text feature. This feature allows users to dictate their electrical certificate data instead of typing them out, making the app more accessible and convenient for users who can simply speak test results while for instance reading directly off the test meter.  This means your hands can be on the probes of your meter and simply say the results.  This also has the benefit of working with ANY test meter, not tied to a manufacturer.

 

“How do I use it?”

Simple! Any text field can be filled in by your voice by simply tapping the microphone button across the top of the keyboard.

 

If you have denied iCertifi access to the microphone you will need to turn it on to use this feature.  As always we don’t store any data on you and it’s purely for speech to text.  Nothing is sent to a server, it’s all done locally and securely on your device.  To turn on microphone access for iCertifi on your iOS device, you can do so by following these steps:

 

1. Open the “Settings” app on your iOS device.

2. Scroll down and tap iCertifi.

3. Tap on “Microphone” in the app’s settings.

4. Toggle the switch next to the app to the “On” position.

 

Once you have turned on microphone access for the app, you will be able to use the microphone within the iCertifi for speech to text.
