Dated records with measured values from Verifi?
COMPLIANT
BS 7671:2018 and GN3 require a documented system of ongoing accuracy checks with measured values. Not just annual calibration. Not just a tick.
The Problem with Paper
The Reality
Be honest. Which one are you?
Most electricians know they should keep accuracy records. The reality is usually one of these.
The van dashboard filing system
Paper forms that are incomplete, coffee-stained, or wedged behind the passenger seat since March.
The phantom spreadsheet
Last updated months ago. Somewhere on a laptop. Nobody can find it. Might be called “Book1.xlsx”.
The occasional CalCard dip
Gets plugged in now and then. No written record of what it measured. No dates. No proof.
Nothing at all
And a vague plan to sort it out the week before the next assessment.
Paper records do not survive a busy working week.
A damp van, a rushed job, a missing pen – and months of accuracy check history disappears. At your annual assessment, that is a direct risk to your scheme registration.

How to Set Up and Use Verifi
Add Your Instruments
Open Verifi and add each of your test instruments. Enter the make, model, serial number, asset tag and any other details relevant to your scheme registration. Attach a photo of each instrument directly from your camera roll.
Record Your First Accuracy Check
Select an instrument and start a new accuracy check. Work through the test types relevant to that instrument. Enter your measured values – Verifi applies BS EN 61557 tolerances automatically and records a pass or fail for each test.
Log Your Calibration Certificates
Upload details of the current calibration certificate for each instrument – date, provider, certificate reference and UKAS status. Attach the certificate document if you have it digitally.
Check Your Dashboard and Set Reminders
Review the fleet dashboard to see the status of all your instruments at a glance. Enable push notifications so Verifi alerts you when accuracy checks or calibrations are coming due.
Generate Your Assessment Report
When your NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA assessment is approaching, open Verifi and generate a PDF report for your full instrument fleet. Your complete accuracy history, calibration records and test lead assessments are compiled into a single professional document – ready to hand to your assessor.
Why UK Electricians Trust Verifi
Protect Your Scheme Registration
A non-compliance on instrument accuracy records at an NICEIC or NAPIT assessment can jeopardise your registration renewal. Verifi means you always have complete, documented records ready to present.
Never Lose a Record Again
Paper accuracy check forms get lost. Verifi stores every record securely in iCloud. From your first accuracy check to your most recent, the complete history is always there – even if you change your iPhone.
Spend Less Time on Admin
Completing an accuracy check in Verifi takes a few minutes. Generating a full fleet PDF report takes seconds. No more paper forms, no scanning, no hoping the assessor can read your handwriting.
How Electricians Use Verifi in Practice
The Sole Trader Preparing for Annual NICEIC Assessment
You carry a Megger MFT1741 and a Kewtech KT71 loop tester. Your annual assessment is in three weeks. Previously, paper forms in the van – but half the pages were missing and the rest barely legible. This time, every accuracy check from the past twelve months is logged in Verifi with measured values and automatic BS EN 61557 pass/fail. You generate a PDF in thirty seconds and email it ahead of the visit. The assessor looks through it, ticks the box, and moves on. No drama.
The Electrical Contractor Managing Multiple Engineers
Your business has four qualified electricians, each carrying their own multifunction tester and loop tester. Tracking calibration status across eight instruments without a system means someone’s calibration will lapse eventually. With Verifi, each engineer records their own accuracy checks. You review the fleet dashboard from your iPad and see at a glance which instruments are in date, which are due in the next thirty days. Ahead of your ELECSA assessment, you generate a full fleet report in one tap.
The Test Engineer Who Got Asked to Prove Accuracy on the Spot
An assessor arrives and asks to see the accuracy records for the insulation resistance tester used on a recent EICR. The engineer opens Verifi, navigates to the instrument, and shows the assessor a complete history of accuracy checks with dates, measured values, pass/fail results and check box reference details – all on screen in under ten seconds. The assessor is satisfied immediately.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Verifi accepted by NICEIC, NAPIT and ELECSA?
Verifi produces structured accuracy check records and PDF reports that meet the documented requirements of all major UK competent person schemes. NICEIC, NAPIT and ELECSA all require evidence that electricians maintain a system for confirming ongoing instrument accuracy – Verifi provides exactly that evidence in a professional, auditable format.
What test instruments can I track in Verifi?
Any electrical test instrument used for BS 7671 certification work: multifunction testers (Megger, Kewtech, Fluke, Metrel, Robin), insulation resistance testers, loop impedance testers, RCD testers, continuity testers, earth electrode testers, voltage indicators and more. If it is used on a test sheet, it can be tracked in Verifi.
What is the BS EN 61557 tolerance calculation?
BS EN 61557 is the European standard that defines minimum performance requirements for test instruments used in low voltage electrical installations. It uses a dual-criteria approach: the tolerance is the larger of a percentage figure or an absolute figure. Verifi applies this calculation automatically for every accuracy check – no manual working required.
Does Verifi work offline?
Yes. Accuracy checks and records can be created and viewed without an internet connection. Records sync to iCloud when connectivity is restored.
Is Verifi available on iPad as well as iPhone?
Yes. Verifi is a universal iOS app, optimised for both iPhone and iPad. There is also an Apple Watch companion app for quick status checks on the go.
Start Keeping Accurate Records Today
Your next NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA assessment will ask you to demonstrate a system for confirming the ongoing accuracy of your test instruments. Verifi is that system – available now on the App Store, built specifically for UK electricians.
Compatible with iPhone and iPad. Requires iOS 14 or later. Syncs across all your devices via iCloud.
Already using iCertifi?
Verifi is the companion app from iCertifi – trusted by thousands of UK electricians. Between them, iCertifi and Verifi give you a complete digital toolkit: certificates produced on-site, and the instrument accuracy records to back them up.
