iCertifi does not access, collect, or store your data. Your information stays on your device, giving you full control and ensuring your privacy. Because of this, backing up your data is essentialiCertifi reminds you regularly to backup your data

 

All certificates you’ve sent always remain available in PDF format. Check your Sent box or the location where you chose to save them.  If you enabled the CC feature in iCertifi, a copy will also have been sent to the email address you specified


 

To recover any saved certificates.  Choose an option below

 

 

Option 1:

iCertifi Backup & Restore. This service you may have already subscribed to, but it is not required to restore your data.

If you’ve already purchased iCloud and created a backup, go to:
Backup > Restore From Backup

Note: If no backup was previously made, this option will not work.
Please proceed with Option 2 instead.

 

 

Option 2:

Apple iCloud backup, enabled by default to back up your device daily.
To recover your certificates, you must select a backup during the restore process before the data was lost.

You can do this from any device linked to your Apple ID.

Important: If your device hasn’t been backing up, or if iCloud was turned off, this method will not work. iCloud backups are managed entirely by Apple.

iCertifi includes a built-in Backup & Restore feature and is fully compatible with Apple iCloud, & Backing up to Mac or PC offering secure backup options of data. These are provided to help protect your data against accidental loss, device failure, or app deletion.

If backups were not used, iCertifi cannot recover lost data as we have no access to your data.

iCertifi Backup & Restore

iCertifi has its own Backup & Restore feature. This is separate from Apple’s iCloud backup.

 

NOTE:  If you have not made a previous backup before you lost your certificates this will not work, please go to option 2.  

 

Option 2

No I have not backed up my certificates

Apple iCloud Backup

If you didn’t create an iCertifi backup or it doesn’t work, you can restore your whole iPhone/iPad from an iCloud backup to before you lost certificates. Act quickly before the backup is  overwritten in your iCloud backup.  Learn more: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/108770

What is Apple iCloud Backup?

  • It’s a digital copy of your whole iPhone saved online by Apple.
  • It backs up your apps, messages, settings, photos, and more.
  • Your phone usually backs up automatically each day when:
    • It’s connected to Wi-Fi
    • It’s charging
    • It’s locked

Check if you have an appropriate backup:

On your iPhone or iPad:
    1. Open the Settings app.
    2. Tap on your name (at the top).
    3. Tap on iCloud.
    4. Tap on iCloud Backup.
    5. You’ll see the devices with iCloud Backup turned on.
  • To see the last backup time, tap on a device. 

 

How to Restore Your iPhone/iPad from an iCloud Backup

Step 1: Erase Your iPhone/iPad

  • Open Settings
  • Go to General
  • Tap Transfer or Reset iPhone/iPad
  • Tap Erase All Content and Settings

Your iPhone/iPad will restart.

 

Step 2: Set Up Your iPhone/iPad Again

  • Follow the on-screen instructions:
    • Choose your language and country
    • Connect to Wi-Fi
  • On the Apps & Data screen, tap Restore from iCloud Backup

 

Step 3: Choose Your Backup (IMPORTANT)!!!

  • Sign in with your Apple ID
  • You MUST pick a backup with a date BEFORE you lost your data. Check carefully Act quickly before Apple overwrites your saved data in iCloud
  • Wait for the restore to start

 

Step 4: Let Your iPhone/iPad Restore

  • Keep your phone connected to Wi-Fi and plugged into power
  • Your data will slowly return (some items like photos might take extra time)

You’re Done!

Your phone or iPad will now have your data back from the chosen backup, including iCertifi certificates.
