EV Charging Point Certificate

EV Charging Point Certificate

iCertifi Now Includes EV Charging Point Certificates with O-PEN Device and Charging Equipment Sections on V12.11.64

We’re thrilled to announce a major update to iCertifi, designed specifically for electricians working on electric vehicle (EV) charging point installations. In response to the rapid growth of EV infrastructure, iCertifi now features a dedicated EV Charging Point Installation Certificate that meets the latest BS 7671: 2018+A2: 2022 standards. Our single signature certificate includes sections for recording information about *O-PEN devices and charging equipment—making sure every detail of your EV installation is accurately documented and fully compliant.

*1. O-PEN Device Section

The O-PEN device, a vital safety feature for EV charging points, is specifically designed to protect users from electric shock in the event of a PEN (Protective Earth and Neutral) conductor fault. Given the increasing reliance on these devices in domestic and commercial EV installations, the iCertifi EV Charging Point Certificate now includes a section dedicated to documenting the presence, make, model, and test results of the O-PEN device.

This ensures that aspects of the EV point installation is not overlooked and that your installations are fully compliant with BS 7671 regulations.

2. Charging Equipment Section

The certificate also includes a section specifically for the EV charging equipment itself. This allows electricians to record detailed information about the type of charger installed, including:

  • Charger make and model
  • Charging current and power ratings
  • Type of connection (e.g., tethered or socketed)

Having this information on the certificate ensures complete transparency and traceability, especially when performing future inspections or maintenance on the charging system
