Import a PDF Certificate From Another App, and More in iCertifi 12.12.80

You turn up for a periodic. The client hands you last time’s EICR: a PDF from another app, emailed over by the landlord. Same boards, same circuits, same cable sizes. Until now you typed the whole schedule back in before you picked up a tester.

iCertifi 12.12.80 and iCertifi Cloud Pro 3.3 read that PDF for you. They also start the certificate for a repair straight from an EICR observation, and draw the distribution for you on big jobs.

Import a certificate made in another app

Import PDF turns a certificate made in another app or software into an iCertifi certificate, ready for you to check and finish. It works from the PDF you already have.

1

Save the PDF to FilesOpen it where you received it (an email, a website or the other app), tap Share, then Save to Files.

2

Choose it in iCertifiIn Saved Certificates, tap the cog button and choose Import PDF, then Choose PDF.

3

Tick the schedule pagesiCertifi ticks the likely pages for you. The first pages are also read for the client and supply details. Reading takes about a minute.

4

Check, then importCheck the values it was not sure of, choose the certificate type, and tap Import. Your new certificate opens, ready to finish.

What comes across

  • The client and installation details
  • The supply details
  • Every board and circuit, in the order they are on the PDF
  • The test readings

Tick boxes, observations, the earthing type and the overall result are not copied. Those are your judgement on the day, so you fill them in.

Read twice, and checked by you

Each schedule page is read two ways, from the picture and from the text, and the two answers are compared. Where they differ, iCertifi puts both in front of you: tap the right one or type it. A board that could only be read one way is flagged so you check every reading on it.

Check these values: where the picture and the text disagree, you choose.

Import PDF is in Beta. The PDF is read by AI, which can make mistakes, so check every value against the original before you issue the certificate.

What it costs
Your first 10 imports are free, whatever their size.

After that, each circuit imported uses 1 AI token, the same as BoardVision. A board with 12 circuits uses 12 tokens. You see the cost before anything is used.

Already have the certificate open? Use Import PDF (Beta) on a board’s scan menu to bring in just the circuits.

Certificate for this repair

An EICR finds the work. Now the EICR starts the paperwork for it too. Open an observation, tap Certificate for this repair and pick the certificate the work needs.

  • Minor Works for a repair or change to one circuit. It takes the circuit you pick.
  • EIC or Domestic EIC for a new consumer unit, new circuits or a rewire. For a consumer unit change it can copy the EICR’s boards and circuits.
  • The client, address, contractor, supply and earthing details come across, with the description of the work taken from the observation.

The board diagram page

On a job with sub-mains, iCertifi can now draw which board feeds which: the supply, each distribution board and what feeds it, with a picture of each board, printed after the last schedule page. It works on EICR, EIC, Domestic EIC and EV certificates with two or more boards. Turn it on in Settings › Board Diagram, or for one certificate from the cog menu.

Also in this update

  • Search circuits on every board from the Distribution Boards page. Type “cooker” or “EV” and go straight to it.
  • The landscape schedule now looks like the printed schedule, and Max Zs updates when you change the breaker.
  • The schedule photo scanner is faster and more accurate.
  • The PDF preview no longer jumps between pages on iOS 27.
  • The observation card on iPad is readable in dark mode.
  • Export ZIP is back at the top of Saved Certificates, in the cog menu.

Nothing to redo

Your saved certificates open as before. The board diagram is only added where you turn it on, and certificates you have already issued or sent reprint exactly as they went out.
